Fried Food: Bakwan Sayur, Bakwan Jagung, Perkedel Kentang

Deep-fried foods are really tasty and there are many different ways to make them. Deep-frying is a popular way to cook food, especially in street food and traditional dishes. People often add spices and condiments to make the deep-fried food taste even better. You can find deep-fried foods in many places, like markets, street stalls, and restaurants.

They are a quick and easy snack or meal to grab. While steamed foods are also popular, they might not be as easy to find or as tasty as deep-fried foods. Deep-fried foods are often served at special events like festivals, weddings, and other celebrations. We serve a couple of deep fried items and here is the common steps to make them, it may varies among different chefs.

Bakwan Sayur

In a large bowl, combine the chopped vegetables, onion, and garlic. Add the egg, flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a sticky dough forms. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Shape the dough into small balls or patties. Fry the patties until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.

Bakwan Jagung

In a large bowl, combine the corn kernels, onion, and garlic. Add the flour, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a sticky dough forms. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.Shape the dough into small balls or patties. Fry the patties until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with chili sauce.

Perkedel Kentang

In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, onion, and garlic. Add the flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well until a dough forms. Divide the dough into small portions and shape into oval croquettes. Dip each croquette in the beaten egg, then coat with flour. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan over medium-high heat. Fry the croquettes until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with a tomato sauce.
